The Cowtown String Band

The Cowtown String Band will be playing this Friday, June 17 at Matilda's.

There is a special place outside of the rat race of the music business where family and friends get together on the back porch with a cold beverage and just have fun picking tunes and singing songs.
The Cowtown String band captures that feeling of spending a lazy Sunday on the porch trading licks and hitting harmonies. This six piece group has mastered the lost art of gathering around a single mic and playing with heart and humor. Even when they enter the world of electricity at bar and club gigs across the state they retain that back porch feeling while putting on a world class show.

In addition to original material the Cowtown String band can be heard playing a wide variety of tunes that includes many traditional old-time and bluegrass tunes as well as songs by Gillian Welch, Tom Petty and even Rick Astley when the mood strikes.
