Bragg Jam Festival

The Bragg Jam festival takes place on July 30, in Macon, Ga. Some of the bands appearing include Chicago's Lubriphonic, Mississippi's Lightnin' Malcolm, and Georgia's own Packway Handle Band.

Rachel Simpson & Villain Family

This Sunday, while enjoying brunch at Sun in my Belly, we were treated to the sounds of a young woman with a beautiful voice singing and playing a rather large ukulele. She turned out to be one Rachel Simpson of the band Villain Family. Unfortunately, the one video of Ms Simpson performing solo has been removed from the YouTube, but there are a few of Villain Family which are also quite good.

Noot D'Noot

Noot D'Noot, Atlanta's premiere electro-funk outfit has just released their newest single, "Chunky Dunk." (buy it here)

Michelle Malone Banned

Armed with a bottleneck slide, blues harmonica, and her signature soul-filled vocals, Michelle Malone was born in the Deep South and grew up listening to her mother sing in the church choir every Sunday. When it came time to craft her own sound, she took those religious roots, blended in enough rock, folk, and blues to satisfy resulting in her 10th CD "DEBRIS", a high-spirited stripped down blend of rootsy acoustic slide, gritty electric blues and explosive vocals that harkens back to the lost recordings of Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams and The Rolling Stones.

New Album From the Black Lips!

Arabia Mountain, the latest album from Atlanta's own semi-legendary Black Lips, is now available!

I'm not sure exactly when it was officially released, a couple weeks ago I think, but it is definitely available now.
